Duplicate customers on customer search

I am running a report to show customers who have a specific type of activity (Phone call) on their record and I only want to see the customer listed one time even if there are multiple activities.  I have tried to run both an activity search and a customer search - both ways show duplicate customers.

I know about the main line when working with transactions. Is there anything like that when working with a customer search?
