new to reports

Hi,
We implemented Netsuite two month ago.  We have a new CFO on board who is asking for specific reports that were not originally spec'd out with the implementation team.  What he would like to see is are report where along the y axis are our customer and on the top is the different types of products they can buy. Horizontally for each customer is how much our customers has bought under each type.  How would I create this report in Netsuite?
