Customers and Opportunities

Hello, I am trying to create a saved search for all customers of a particular customer type that counts the number of open opportunities for each.  Some may have 0 which I would like to still include in the search.  I thought I had done something similar in the past but cannot seem to re-create it.  Can someone point me in the right direction?
