Reporting by periods in saved searches
I am trying to create a save transaction search which returns sales by customers according to quarters. I am using the following formula to setup different fields in the search to show the totals of the different quarters -
This is an example of the July-September Quarter 2011-
CASE WHEN {transaction.trandate} BETWEEN TO_DATE('07/01/2011','MM/DD/YYYY') AND TO_DATE('09/30/2011','MM/DD/YYYY') THEN {transaction.amount} ELSE 0 END
We are only interested in looking at the last 8 quarters. Is there a way of setting the date criteria on each field so that it works for the last 8 quarters whenever the search is run, instead of us manually inputting the dates in the formula.
