LEFT Function

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to return the left-most character of a field in a search. Usually I'd use a LEFT function in this case, however it seems like I'm unable to do this on Netsuite. Can anyone give me advice on how to get around this limitation?

The field is the opportunity status field, and I'm trying to count all the opportunity statuses that start with 1, to work out our conversion rate. The field itself is a text type field.
