Why is finding field names in report building sooo difficult (for me)

edited Jan 3, 2020 12:28AM in Search / Reporting 6 comments

I just wasted over an hour trying to make a very simple report.  My report started with "reports->Sales->Sales by item summary>customize".    I needed a column displaying the income account field so i could group sales totals by income account.

So, I try to find the income account field using the "search tool" displayed in the NetSuite report builder. I search for "income".

Results = "No results fond".

OK, that is odd. So, I search for "account".  I only get a few matches. I find one that seems close after much head scratching.  It is just labeled "account type", along side about 50 other fields that are also just named "account type".  I hover over each one and I find one that has notes that say "Item Type > Income Account > Account Type".  I add it to my report.  I think I'm done at that point.  I view my report and "no luck".  That field only shows the word "Income" and not the full account name that

Howdy, Stranger!
