Transaction Reports Excluding Taxes

Hi All,

I may be missing something but it boggles my mind that I cannot produce a saved search for Sales Orders, Purchases, Payables (vendor bills) that excludes taxes - is there no field to select for the transaction subtotal amount?  The "Net of tax" does not produce accurate results.  If you have the answer - kindly dumb it down for me - I'm new to the world of Saved Searches and I am by no means an advanced report writer
