Description Items in Reports

There is an item type of "Description" that is used to show text on transactions without quantity or price. We are trying to see if we can show these description items on report with the other items, the same way they show on the orders. Is this possible? I have already set the filter to include item type = "Description," and it doesn't seem to work.
