Sales Growth By Item

Hello,
I need to create a report that compares sales growth by each item for a set period. Ex I need to run the report for current items sold for the month of March 2014 and compare it to the same period last year. I then want to see beside each item the current sales growth (ex up 10%, 20% etc or even down 10% etc) what this will do is help me react quicker to sales trends. I appreciate any info anyone could provide to me on this. I have been looking through netsuite trying to figure out how to
