Where is Customer "Country" stored in UI?

I've written a saved transaction search that used the Customer: Country field in both the criteria and the results, and I've specified that the country should be United States.  I'm getting transactions returned for a customer that is in Hong Kong, even though the search results show "United States" and "US" in the results.  All of the customer's addresses on the Address tab are Hong Kong, and I can't find any "Country" field on the customer record, much less one that shows United States.  Where is the Customer: Country information displayed on the customer record so that it can be
