How to Report on Member Items that are not past the Obsolete Date?

We have a report with a fomula(numeric) field that returns the maximum buildable quantity for an assembly.  The formula is:

(NVL(({memberitem.locationquantityavailable}/{memberquantity}),0))*{memberquantity}

We'd like the formula to only take into account Components where the obsolete date is in the future or there isn't a date set.  Any ideas on how to do this?
