Monthly Budget vs Actual KPI Scorecard
Our team wanted a monthly budget vs actual KPI for revenue and expenses on the main dashboard in a scorecard format so we could show each month of the year that has already closed. After much searching, there didn’t seem to be a good solution for this as the budget feature in NetSuite is only searchable by year. I came up with a custom solution, but am curious if there are better ways to do this.
To show budget by month, I created a new custom record type to save the monthly budget for revenue and expenses. This does mean double entering the budget each year though, which isn’t ideal. This custom record contains the following fields: Date, Period, Budget Type, Budget Amount.
