Comparing Quantity on Customer Profitability goes negative?

After adding columns to compare previous periods on a customized Profitability Summary report, I'm seeing zeros or even negative numbers for Profitability:Quantity.

The correct values appear for the selected period, but the previous period has incorrect Quantity. All other columns (Revenue, Cost, Profit) compute correctly.

Example: setting the report date to Jan 2018 shows columns for Jan 2018 and Jan 2017, and only Jan 2017 Quantity is wrong.

If I then set the report date to Jan 2017, all the Jan 2017 values are correct including Quantity, and the compared Jan 2016 Quantity is wrong.

Is this a known issue? It's easy to duplicate:
