Creating a report showing sales of an item including it's sales as a member of a kit (report or Suit

How can we create a report showing sales of item X ....including it's sales as a member of a kit (report or SuiteAnalytics). I can't just include sales of the kits because some of the kits might have 1 kit = 3 pcs of item X as it's components.
