Sorting Search Results

My system integrates a POS system with NetSuite.

Every transaction that occurs at the POS is created against a customer in NetSuite - as a Sales Order.

I have a requirement to print the last seven transactions at POS.

As far as I can tell there's no way to issue a Web Services command: "Give me the last seven sales orders for customer X".

If I could tell the search operation to sort the results by date I could specify in my search preferences to get the last 7 records. There's no way to sort the results on the NetSuite side.
