Loading a Serialized Inventory Item

Hi,

How is it possible to load an item of type "Serialized Inventory Item" using web services?

When I specify the type as "Inventory Item", the item cannot be loaded (when using the item's internalId) and I get the message "There are no records of this type".

Any answers are greatly appreciated.
