how to get COGS amount for itemfulfillment transaction?

Given the internal id of an item fulfillment record, How can i get the cost of goods sold amount ?...In the NS UI, this is done by going to the item fulfiillment records and looking at the GL impact, how can this be done using web services. NS exposes the Account and Journal entry record types, but I am just not able to wrap my hands around to using those records to get what i need.
