Trying to create Gift Certificates

Everything is working when we create cash sales that issue GCs using Web Services EXCEPT the account that they get assigned to.  I'm using the Web Service to create the cash sale that includes the GC.  Here's how our accountant describes the issue:

When creating the Gift Certificate thru the Cash Sale, a payment method is selected which has an associated  G/L account assigned to it.  The problem is that the default credit card processing settlement bank account overrides the selected payment method and a wrong G/L account is created for the transaction.


When I try to assign the account through Web Services I get this error:
