Ecommerce Help, Please!!

I'm not even sure if I am posting this in the right place, but we really need guidance on some ecommerce issues.  We have several customers who are interested in "purchase sites".  The customer center does not seem to work for this, and I really don't know where to begin.  Can anyone recommend a stating point for me?  To say my knowledge on this subject is limited is an understatement!!

We need the ability to have customers go to a specific site and place orders for their items.  Would that be a "monster commerce" type of site and can we link it to NS, or can it be done within NS?  Any suggestions on how to start?  We also need to have our home page redesigned.
