Web service beginner , need help

Hello,
I'm new to Netsuite and I want to start using web services, I'm studying the examples in ns help but when I copy them onto C# express I get a lot of errors when I build, mainly I'm getting The name x does not exist in the current content, I checked my using statements and the web reference and I can't see what is missing. I would appreciate some help or if you could direct me to some example applications I can take apart.
