Adding a vendor to a Serialized Inventory Item

We have an application that periodically needs to add a new vendor to an existing serialized inventory item. Strangely enough, when the vendor gets added to the item, the update is removing existing vendors on the item.

I have double checked to ensure that the replaceall flag for the vendor list is set to false as well as verifying that multiple vendors is enabled on the account.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
