How do we determine if an Assembly is serialized?

Still trying to replace some old-school search code with the new Advanced search.  I just noticed that a Serialized Assembly is returned as "Assembly".  This is consistent with the UI search.

Anyone know any tricks to determine if it's a Serialized Assembly? (Or serialized Inventory for that matter)
