What are the Parameters to call an operation

Hi all,

I am not clear of the diff. files eg. netsuite.wsdl and the xsd files etc . What i need to know is for example if i need to add a sales order , what i need to do after i need to call the add function, that is with what parameters, i know i need to go to the schema browser which i did but still i was not able to get a hold of this.
Similar if i need to search for an item how to know which parameters i need to call with,

I know these questions are very elementary but i seek answers to this, i have searched for but still could  not find a sol for them,
