Python example for SuiteTalk
So you've got SuiteTalk SOAP capabilities and a bunch of great examples written in PHP, Java and VB. But what if you prefer to use a good language?
Here's a first crack at accessing SuiteTalk with Python. It's mostly a proof of concept.
To run this, you'll need the Python "suds" SOAP client library. It's available through easy_install or you can find it here.
from suds.client import Client # update if v2009.1 is not current wsdl = 'https://webservices.netsuite.com/wsdl/v2009_1_0/netsuite.wsdl' # update with your account and login info account = 'YOUR ACCOUNT HERE' email = 'YOUR LOGIN HERE' password = 'YOUR PW HERE' role_id = '15' # Employee Center role, just to be safe # create client object client = Client(wsdl) # create passport and log in passport = client.factory.create('ns4:Passport') passport.account = account passport.email = email passport.password = password role = client.factory.create('ns4:RecordRef') role._internalId = role_id passport.role = role login = client.service.login(passport) # just to confirm everything's OK print login.status # And now for some examples.... # print a list of all companies (incl. prospects, etc.) csb = client.factory.create('ns2:CustomerSearchBasic') results
