Quickest way to get a complete list (employee, projects, etc.)

Hi,

I'm wondering what the quickest way is to get a complete list into my software (I use VB.Net, but C++, C# examples are also fine).

I know that for some lists it's very easy and quick. For example a list with currencies is just use the GetAllRecordType.currency.

But I don't know the way to get (for example) all projects in a list.

Who can help me? Some pseudo code would be very nice.
