How do I test existing Web Service code?

Hello All:
We have a great deal of existing web services code in place that I need to verify will work with the upgrade that we're scheduled for in two weeks.  My question is: do I point the service call to a different URL, or are there different login credentials?

My existing credentials work in system.beta.netsuite.com, but I have not found any documentation on how to avoid affecting the production data store with my testing.

Any help greatly appreciated.
