Opportunities Title not exporting during Web Services call

I'm seeing a peculiarity when using the 2009_2 Web Services to extract Opportunities data to a local datawarehouse.

If an Opportunity has a title inserted at opp creation time, then the title data is retrieved by the call - no problems.

However, if the title for an opportunity is added at a later date, then the field is not returned during the extract.

I originally thought that it was an issue with my code, and that I didn't have my search date ranges correct, however I did a full reload of the Opportunites data (thinking that this would pick up the altered records), but the result was the same.
