How to get Display Text / Value and not internal Id in a saved search

hi,

I am using a saved search for contacts and it has a field called Role, in response i get the field Role but the internal id is fetched and returned and not the Display text/ Value.

I need to know is there a way i can get the display value and not display text selectively for some columns,
