Jobs not included in Main customer dashboard

I've been using jobs for customers but I have selected "Accept Payments through Top-level Customer" in the setup. However, the detail for the customer isn't showing up on their dashboard. One customer has only one sale unpaid (as a job) but sales are showing at $0. Another customer had a payment posted to invoices and it shows their balance as a negative number ($1800). I'm confused. Could it be that reporting was recently changed from Cash to Accrual the reporting is out of date? (is this a known bug?)
