Sales Order KPI - changing date used in comparison?

Can I configure NetSuite's built in sales KPIs/Reports to run off of a (custom) line item date instead of a sales order header date? 

I'd like to be able to have an order created in one month contain additional items applicable/dated the next month.  Then I could report on "This month vs. last month" such that this particular order's dollar volume gets split between the two.  Is this possible?
