Customising Dashboard Snapshot Reports

Is it possible to customise Dashboard Reports Snapshot?

On the dashboard we use the "Sales Management Report Snapshots". 

I would like to be able to customise the report it uses (remove some columns) so that it does not display in the Dashboard.

If I click on 'View Report' from the dashboard it runs the report "AltSales and Billings Forecast vs. Quota". 

Theory goes that I can then edit this report to so that the dashboard report is customised accordingly.

It does not appear to work - does any one know if it is possible to do so or are these dashboard reports 'hard-coded'?
