Dashboard reports do not match inventory valuation report

To no prevail I have been trying to figure out why my KPI meter for inventory and inventory trend graph do not match my inventory valuation report (netsuite standard report).  When refreshed they both match but they run 3-4% less than the valuation report.  Can anybody offer any idea?
