Custom Employee Headcount KPI

Currently, the out of the box Employee KPI counts each employee with the value of 1. I would like to be able to customize it so that it counts based on the Employee Status Field.  So, if you are a Part Time it would = .5 and FUul Time = 1.  This would get to a more accurate FTE (Full Time Equivalent) statistic.  Is this possible?
