Email Redirection to create Cases

i followed the insructions for adding contacts in Exchange to direct emails to Netsuite CAse creation

if i send email to the mailox/user that is redicting emails to the big netsuite cases address, it creates a case OK

if I add that mailbox/user to an email distribution list then sending an email to that distribution list doesn't create a case.

am i doing something wrong or does Netsuite not like something about this setup e.g. is it losing the original sender's email address or something
