How do you identify other Entities?

I've noticed that Netsuite has some main entities: Leads, Prospects, Customers,  Contacts, Groups, Partners, Vendors, Other Names.

We have additional entity types such as press contacts, investors, corportate contacts.

What have you guys done to organize these entities.  I'm guessing lump them all in Other Names and create a custom field that attributes their types?
