Who created the lead report

I'm trying to create a saved search that tells me who created which leads. This is useful information cause we can track how many leads our individual customer service people are creating each day.
What I did was set a filter for System Notes with the type being "create" and what I need is another filter that says the field is "record".  This would show me who created the record, but "record" is not an option under"field" even though it is displayed on the actual lead record - confusing I know.  Is there an easier way to find out who created the lead?
