Restricting Employee access

We restrict certain "employee sales roles", actually independent sales reps, to only be able to view the leads/customers they are assigned as a Sales Person. 

Is it possible to also restrict their access to only those contacts tied to their customers?  Currently, even with Employee restriction set to Self, the user can see Contacts not associated with a Customer.  I would like to only have Contacts associated with the sales reps Customer.
