Activities after lead conversion

We are attempting to use lead conversion.  When I have a lead that is of type individual and I convert that lead, the activities seem to stay with the contact, and not get copied over to the prospect.  This makes it very hard to see all the activity for that prospect because I have to look in each contact separately.

Is there any way to show all the activities from the contact under the prospects's main activity tab?
