Tracking Lead Source from a Print Ad

What is the best way to track a lead source from a Printed Ad?

I have set up a lead source id and specified a URL for the lead source e.g www.mysite.com/summer

When I save it the field displays www.mysite.com/summer?leadsource=99

When you visit www.mysite.com/summer, it displays the homepage (unless I set up a presentation tab page at www.mysite.com/summer).

Is this going to actually work?

IF not, should I set up the presentation page and meta refresh it to the home page with the leadsource=99 parameter, or simply set a 301 redirect up?
