Opportunity - how to project for re-orders?
Most of our customers order a 1 or 2 month supply of items at a time and they usually keep re-ordering, sometimes for years. I'm looking into using Opportunity records and stumbling on the Projected Value concept. The first order may be for 300 widgets at $7 a piece, but the customer will likely re-order for years. Do we make the opportunity for just the first order (i.e. $2,100) or do we extrapolate out a years worth of sales? Do we try to estimate the total revenue the opportunity could create until the end of time?!
How do some of you handle this?
