Single Estimate/SO with quantity break details

Has anyone had experience with standard function to present estimates and sales orders in one transaction with multiple quantity break values?

We can quote customers for items at 1000, 2000 and 3000 quantities and want to present to the customer in one document.  However the value of the transaction is incorrect

Have tried the following:
Create one estimate with the multiple lines and exclude from forecast and remove the totals from the printed form (otherwise the customer panics at the cost)
then duplicate the estimate each time for the individual quantities and mark the likely one for success (we dont use advanced forecasting)
