SuiteSocial - Subscriptions & Notifications

Hello,
Need help with the following regarding SuiteSocial:

1) When subscribing to Saved Searches, what do we subscribe to - changes in criteria of the Saved Search or changes to existing records which are returned by the Saved Search or new records which are returned?

2) If we are subscribed to channels/records:
    - is there a functionality which allows us to stop receiving notifications for a specific number of days even if i want to remain subscribed to that channel
    - do we receive an e-mail each time that there is a change in one of the record which we are following
