Back ordered items in pending approval

Hi there,
We often put orders into pending approval when we are out of stock on something and the customer wants a call back prior to shipping.

How would it be possible for me to run a report or search so that I could see the qty of each item that is in pending approval?

I see the back order report but that only pulls for sales orders that aren't in pending approval.
