Why does my report view change after I save it?

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if I can even explain it.
I created two reports in NetSuite, both very basic. One is based on Lead Count and the other on Opportunity Transactions, so they both total. When I hit preview, I get exactly what I'm looking for in terms of the count (for example, my report is calculating the sales each month based on lead source). In the preview mode, it totals by lead source. If I hit Save and it goes back to the view mode, it lists each instance of a lead source, so I will have multiple listings for any particular lead source with the total.
