How to make the phone number field only numeric with HTML form

Hello,

We are currently using the custom HTML form to capture leads.  Recently we notice that if a lead form is filled out with alpha in the phone number field the form is submitted creating a lead.

I am wondering if there is a HTML code that could be placed in the form to ensure that only numeric values would be accepted.
