Online lead generation - currency
We are a Canadian account (our base currency is Canadian)
We get a lot of Leads generated from the US, but those currently default to a currency of Cdn on the lead record. We have tried to deal with the issue by having an alert go to the Sales team so that the currency can be updated after the fact with the correct currency, before any transactions get logged against it. The problem is that this is impacting our duplicate mgmt process as you cannot merge two records that have different currencies.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to resolve this at the time the online form is submitted. Would a custom script fix this ? I have also heard a suggestion to do a mass update (ie everytime the lead comes in as country US but currency Cdn, trigger an update to that record.
