Online form creating leadr and contact

Is there anyway that I can stop Netsuite automatically creating a lead and a contact entry?

In most circumstances, we only require the contact entry and can later attach it to an appropiate lead, prospect or customer later.

Any suggestions or confirmation is greatly appreciated.
