Customising merged email subjects -- enabled/fixed in v.11?

Just tested adding an NS field to the subject line of emails and to my surprise/delight it worked/merged.

Maybe of interest to others -- certainly really useful to us, and even more so if I can figure how to script recurring/trigger/series emails.

Is this new/fixed with v.11? (I tested in v.10 and it didn't work, just got the field, e.g. <NLFIRSNAME>.)
