faxing - force plain text

I'm desperately trying to get faxing to work and meet our requirements.

We only want to send an attachment, but netsuite will send a blank page when a message isn't entered.  Fine, I accept that for now, as a workaround I entered a plain text message with cheesy ASCII formatting, something like:

 +--------------------------+  |                          |  |  Hello Dr. <tagname>     |  |  ...etc                  |  |                          |  +--------------------------+ 

The problem with this is that when I save the message, NetSuite removes all the leading whitespace!  I end up receiving a fax that looks like:

 +--------------------------+  ||  |Hello Dr. <tagname>|  |...etc|  ||  +--------------------------+ 

efax and faxaway don't support html in the message body, so that isn't an option.
