Weird xml message in System Email Template

Our customers are noticing an xml notification within the template.  Example shown below. 

1. Create a custom System Email Template with the following:

We, at Verified Credentials, Inc., have recently started using a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to better serve you, our valued client. As a result you may have noticed that the email correspondence you receive from us looks different. Please do not be alarmed by this change since all emails are still securely coming from and being received by our staff. If you have any questions or concerns about our new CRM system, please reply to this email message.  You may also call our helpful Client Services department at 800.938.6090 or if you are a student, our Student Direct
